INTERNET RECHARTER

Important news for ALL Unit Leaders - Its RECHARTER TIME

The first step in preparing for the fun, life-changing experiences that will happen in Scouting in 2016 is ensuring your unit completes the recharter process.

This is the annual administrative policy of the Boy Scouts of America to ensure all chartering organizations, youth and adults are registered members of the organization.

Timeline:

  • Your unit's recharter packet will be distributed at your District's November Roundtable. If your unit does not receive its packet, please contact your District Commissioner or District Executive immediately.
  • The online window for internet rechartering opens December 1st. There will be a button on the home page at www.nfcscouting.org
  • The deadline to turn in your completed recharter is your District's January Roundtable.

Reminders:

  • The first step to a strong recharter is calling all inactive youth and inviting them to remain in Scouting.
  • All recharters are done online, however it is not a paperless process. The recharter is not complete without the proper signatures
  • Your District is hosting several help days to support you in your efforts to recharter effectively. Please contact your District Commissioner or District Executive to confirm date, time and location.

The design is in the works and the time is now to place your order:

  1. Be sure one person from your Pack places the order.
  2. Go online here and order FREE placemats: Cub Scout Place-mats.
  3. Place your order by Tuesday, December 4, 2015.

FAMILY FRIENDS OF SCOUTING

Attention Unit Leaders!

You may have seen at Roundtable this month, a kickoff presentation for the Family Friends of Scouting campaign for 2016.

As you know, Scouting continues to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. Thousands are experiencing life-changing thrills, overcoming challenges and helping others in meaningful ways.

At your next Blue and Gold or Court of Honor, we invite you to host a Friends of Scouting presentation for the families in your unit.

This is the annual opportunity to share with every family the story of Scouting’s impact and to invite families to consider financial support in 2016.

Gifts to FOS support: low-cost local activities for all Scouts in your area, scholarships for those in need, training of volunteers, camping facilities, insurance, as well as, field, camping and support staff who provide direct customer service to your unit.

Please sign up for your 2016 FOS presentation today at www.nfcscouting.org/FOS. Thank you in advance for hosting this presentation!
